Mining Hydraulic Hose Manufacturer – Rentone Hose

Mining hydraulic hoses typically consist of multiple layers of braided or spirally wound steel wire reinforcement. They have exceptional pressure resistance and pulse resistance, and can reliably convey fluids even under harsh environmental conditions.

The inner tube of the mining hose is constructed from oil-resistant and anti-aging synthetic rubber. This material exhibits excellent compatibility with hydraulic fluids and emulsions, effectively preventing the conveyed medium from eroding the hose body. The outer cover is made of a highly abrasion-resistant and tear-resistant composite rubber, designed to withstand the damp, dusty, oil-contaminated, and frequently flexing conditions typical of underground mining environments.

These hydraulic hoses feature a small bending radius, making installation easy. Even in confined spaces, users can route the hoses flexibly without the risk of blockages or oil leaks from excessive bending. Our hydraulic hoses are MSHA-certified and demonstrate outstanding flame-retardant and anti-static properties. They are ideally suited for use in flammable and explosive environments, such as coal mines and metal mines.

Materials for Our Mining Rubber Hoses

Inner rubber layer

This layer mainly uses oil-resistant special synthetic rubber, specifically nitrile rubber (NBR) or hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR). This type of synthetic rubber has excellent oil resistance, aging resistance, and sealing integrity. It also meets all the safety standards required for MSHA certification.

Reinforcement Layer

  • Braided Reinforcement Layer: Composed of precisely braided, high-carbon, high-strength galvanized steel wire or copper-plated steel wire. It is available in 2-layer, 4-layer, or multi-layer configurations. This design endows the hose with exceptional tensile strength and burst resistance.
  • Spiral Reinforcement Layer: Formed by spirally winding high-strength steel wire ropes. Compared to the braided reinforcement layer, the spiral reinforcement layer offers superior pressure-bearing capacity and outstanding pulse resistance. It is the ideal choice for high-pressure and ultra-high-pressure hydraulic systems in mining applications.
  • Outer rubber layer: This layer mainly uses high-abrasion-resistant special synthetic rubber, specifically including chloroprene rubber (CR) or ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). This material has excellent overall performance, including oil resistance, wear resistance, flame retardancy, antistatic properties, and weather resistance.

High-Performance Thermoplastic Materials (Polyurethane / Elastic Polyester)

  • Polyurethane (TPU) Outer Cover: Compared to standard rubber, TPU offers superior abrasion resistance. This material is MSHA-certified, making it suitable for high-risk operational environments such as coal mines.
  • Elastic polyester inner layer: This layer can be combined with a composite reinforcement structure (composed of aramid fibers and steel wires). This design allows a smaller bending radius and significantly reduces the hose’s overall weight.

Features and Certifications for Rentone Mining Hoses

  • Excellent pressure resistance: Strong pulse resistance.
  • Strong weather and wear resistance: High tear resistance and impact resistance, adaptable to harsh mining conditions.
  • Good flexibility: It is flexible and convenient for use in narrow spaces such as mines and quarries.
  • Excellent flame-retardant and antistatic: Meet the explosion-proof safety requirements for underground mines, ensuring operator and equipment safety.
  • Excellent oil resistance and sealing: strong media compatibility, good sealing performance, and prevention of media leakage.
  • Low maintenance cost: It has strong wear and aging resistance and a service life far exceeding that of ordinary hydraulic hoses.

To ensure safety, mining hoses should be certified. The certificates or approvals come from authorized bodies in various countries. These organizations include:

  • MSHA certification — Mine Safety and Health Administration (USA)
  • ATEX explosion-proof certification — European Union
  • GOST certification — Russia
  • SIMTARS — Australia
  • KATS — South Korea

As a core component of underground equipment, mining hoses have different technical requirements and access standards for their safety performance in different countries and regions.

Considerations for Custom Mining Hoses and How to Choose the Right One

Considerations for Custom Mining Hoses:

1. Working Pressure

2. Medium Type

3. Reinforcement Layer Structure

4. Bend Radius

5. Pressure Rating

6. Safety Certification

7. Flame-Retardant and Anti-Static Properties

8. Fitting Type

How to Choose the Right Mining Hose?

1. Safety Certification and Compliance: Obtain MSHA mining certification to ensure the hose possesses flame-retardant and anti-static characteristics, and that the outer cover bears a permanent certification mark.

2. Pressure Rating Requirements: When selecting a mining hose, the rated working pressure of the hydraulic hose must exceed the maximum pressure of the system.

3. Medium Compatibility: The medium conveyed by the hose determines the material of the inner tube. For common hydraulic fluids and mineral oils, nitrile rubber is typically chosen for the inner tube.

4. Reinforcement Layer Structure: 1-layer wire braid is suitable for low-pressure environments (16–25 MPa). 2-layer wire braid is suitable for medium-pressure environments (25–40 MPa). 4-layer wire spiral is suitable for high-pressure environments (40–60 MPa). 6-layer wire spiral is suitable for ultra-high-pressure environments (60–100 MPa+).

5. Bend Radius and Dimensions: During installation, the bend radius must not be less than the minimum bend radius specified for the hose; otherwise, it may damage the hydraulic hose and lead to a rupture.

6. Flame Retardance and Anti-Static Properties: In underground working environments, the outer cover must possess flame-retardant and anti-static properties to prevent sparks from triggering accidents.

7. Fittings: Mining quick couplings (KJ series) are the preferred choice. Other options include DIN standard fittings, universal threaded fittings, and K1/K2 type fittings.

Applications of Mining Hoses

Mining hydraulic hoses are specialized high-pressure fluid transmission hoses designed specifically for the hydraulic systems of underground and open-pit mines, including coal mines and metal mines. It is the core component for hydraulic power transmission in mining machinery. Mining hoses are widely used in the hydraulic systems of mining equipment such as hydraulic supports, tunneling machines, coal mining machines, and loaders.
